Updates
Please Welcome Our New Director, Mary De Bellis!
The past year has seen some change at the Library, most importantly the hiring of our new Director, Mary De Bellis. Mary comes to us from the Mahopac Public Library in Putnam County where she worked as the Head of the Reference Department for 14 years. Prior to Mahopac Public, she was a librarian in the New York Public and Westchester County Library Systems, working in their Reference, Young Adult, and Children’s departments. Mary possesses a broad range of knowledge, experience, and understanding of the ever-evolving services, programs, and technology required for a public library to connect with its community and remain a vital resource. She believes the LaGrange Association Library is a “hidden gem” and is excited about engaging with its staff and community to promote and expand the rich variety of services available. So, if you haven’t met her yet, stop in and say hello and join us in welcoming her to the LaGrange Association Library family!

Canine Book Nook
Reading to dogs can boost reading skills and self-confidence in children as well as help with emotional and social skills. Many children are self-conscious and hesitant when reading out loud, but when they read stories to a dog they are less stressed and actually find it enjoyable! Joan O'Neill, a volunteer with Therapy Dogs International along with Lucy, her canine reading partner, are available for 15 minute reading sessions in the Children's Room. Lucy is a good listener! So bring along your favorite book and share a story with a furry friend.

This month Lucy is coming on November 9th & 30th, which are the second and fifth Thursdays of the month.
